Tell us a little bit about yourself and when you first became interested in photography:

I was raised in the Bronx, NY. I’ve been taking pictures for about 11 years. Photography was always important to me, because it’s the only way to capture a special moment in time. People always complimented my pictures, but I didn’t notice that it was a gift until I took classes, and the instructor discussed one of the most important parts of taking a picture. And that was the “Rule of Thirds”. I was using this rule in my pictures before I took pictures professional.

What was your #1 favorite photography moments from this past year?  

I did a photo shoot with a few people. All of the people were used to posing except for one of the females. This seemed like it would be a challenge. But I brought the best out of her, because her poses was better than everyone else’s. It was her 1st time modeling.


Black & white Vs. Color photography – your thoughts:

I like both. To me every picture is different. When I’m doing a wedding or photo shoot, I know what color I’m going to use on the picture in before I start working on them because of the type of shot. Black looks good when you bring out the story in it. Color is good for showing the vividness of the photo. Not every picture looks good in black & white, same with color.

Whose wedding (dead or alive) would you have liked the opportunity to photograph and why? 

It would have to be my mother’s wedding. I was too young to shoot. My mom is from the West Indies, and the water is so clear you can see the fish swimming pass your feet. The colors are so vivid in the West Indies. I would have loved to bring all of it out in her wedding to make it extra special.

Save the Date!

Do I really need to send out Save the Date Cards?

What is the purpose of sending out Save the Date Cards?

If you will have guest traveling long distance or are you having a destination wedding then YES you should send out save the date cards. Even if those do not apply save the date cards are simply a way to announce to family and friends your wedding date and to ask them to respectfully reserve the date for your union. Typically save the date cards are mailed out at least 4 to 6 months before the wedding and maximum 12 to 15 months. Giving all guest ample time to make arrangements.

Save the Date Cards are not meant to be formal.Most brides prefer the Save the Date Magnets because your guests can put it on their refrigerator and it serves as a constant reminder. And the best part  about picture personalized save the date magnets you do not have to throw them away.

WHERE TO GET MARRIED ?

When getting married, choosing your location should be at the top of your To-Do list. Your wedding venue is one of the most important aspect of your big day because it takes up a chunk or your budget and your guest will always remember how your venue looked. This is a very important decision for you and your fiancé. Here are a few helpful tips before you begin your hunt.

 Budget: The cost of your venue can take up a large percentange of your wedding cost so whatever venue you choose make sure it works with your budget.

Guest List:  Whether you want an intimate affair or a party for your friends and family. The number of guest is an important element when picking your venue.

Wedding Style: What is your wedding look? Whether it’s a garden party, modern affair, Victorian era, knowing what your venue looks like is very important. Be sure to tour!

Parking Space: Lack of parking spaces can have guest enter your wedding venue in a sour mood. Make sure there is ample parking at the venue of your choice.

Venue Restrictions: Be knowledgeable on the venue restrictions if any. Some venues have restrictions when it comes time, decoration, catering, floral arrangements and vendors.

Pick the venue that sweeps you off your feet! Pick the venue that you can imagine marrying your sweetheart! Pick the venue that steals your heart!

Congratulations on your engagement! So when is the big day? Almost every recently engaged couple is asked that question.

Here are three helpful tips to think about when choosing your big day while not breaking your pockets:

  1. Summertime is the most popular time of the year for weddings. Perhaps you should go for a day in April when the flowers are blooming or a cold winter day with snow in your background.
  2. Weekends are the most common time to get married. Dare to be different and get married on a Tuesday.
  3. Do you love holidays? So do I, but that double celebration might cost you double the price.
